the 2 nuts that come down from the O2 housing wont come off what should i try to get them off. also do i have to reuse them with my apexi n1 downpipe? any help is great.

Spray some PB Blaster on them, wait a while, and spray some more. If you can, get a breaker bar in there and get them out. You'll probably have to re-use them although it wouldn't hurt to get new ones. Just take your time and be patient. :thumb:

air impact wrench will do the trick if breaker bar doesnt work...borrow a compressor or compressed air tank. you can get a 230 ft-lb wrench at Pep Boys for $39.

or you can get an electric one hundred-something ft-lb electric for $50, handy for the future if you ever have to change a tire that's been over-torqued.

get some liquid wrench (spray can) spray it on the bolts and let sit for like 5 min. if using a socket wrech put it on it and hammer it to break it loose, or stick you biggest wrench ( with a hole on the end) and put it on your socket wrech and use it as a breaker bar. works everytime :thumb:

Before beating on it i would heat it up with a propane torch, i find this helps not break things making the job a lot easier.

Definitely heat it up with a torch. It will soften things up. If its sealed tight with rust there is no way for a penetrating fluid to lubricate the threads.

BTW, if you dont use an impact socket you will likely bust it if your method of choosing is a big breaker bar. Nothing irritates me more than when I crack a socket!!!! HATE IT

I've had more luck with a torch than PB blaster. If you can get a torch that'd be your best bet. :thumb:

Just like most of the others I got mine off with a breaker bar and pb blaster. I would highly reccomend mechanics gloves when working with exhaust LOL. My hands got so beat up and cut up it wasn't funny. Good luck.

Yes, gloves do wonders, also....when your working with PB blaster and you have to spray it upwards, either look away or wera some clear protective glasses. :D My friend had a bad encounter with it.

MY GOD DOES THAT CRAP BURN IN YOUR EYES!

Pore the heat to it and the pb blast first. heat usually helps on exhaust stuff. heat the nut to make is expand then it will let lose of the rust. :dsm: :thumb:

ps>glad you got them off though

Try soaking the bolts over night with PB blast. After you initially spray them down, hit the bolts a couple of times with your wrench. After the over night soak, do the same thing again and then try to remove them. Ive never had a problem following these steps.

*edit*

You got them off! Well, congrats. Makes my post useless. :p

take it to the muffler shop have them losen the bolts for 5bucks if not free take it home and there you go or pb and min torch is the best way

:notgood: So that way if they break the bolts, there not responsible? Why pay someone 10 dollars or even 2 dollars for that matter to get something off that takes 2 minutes.
