Alright I bought my car in Michigan in october. Because I imported it into Canada I had to wait for a letter from the government to tell me what to do with the car. Once I got that letter it told me to go to canadian tire to get it inspected.

So I went to canadian tire. But they wont inspect it because the recalls have not been done on the car. So today I dropped of the talon at the dealership to have 3 recalls done. One of them is the ball joint I believe. And they called me from the dealership because they could not get the rims off. I dont know where the wheel lock key is.

All I know is that the rims are Eagle Racing rims. And my deadline to have the car road worthy is the 25th. This is a huge setback because I have school and I dont have alot of time to go around looking for car parts and such.

So does anybody know where I can find one of these keys, a custom wheel place or something?

Thanks.

The fastest thing you can do is go and buy a socket just a little smaller then the diameter of the lock, pound it on over the lock and hopefully you can get it out.

Unless you know the manufacture of the lock and have the code for the key you are up the creek.

Awesome! I called them and told them to try it and 10mins later they called me back telling me it worked!

Thanks. :thumb:

If you are going to have rims with lockers you might want to invest in a lugnut cracker. It is always nice if one of the people in your car support structure has one.

they do make sockets that go over them and dig in and take them out.. cannot reuse them tho.

True, the universal lug removers are awesome but alot of tuner wheels use those damn internal hex heads sunk in deep holes with not much clearance around them. Will the splitter metioned be able to get into those?

For the rims on my mx-6 I use a spark plug socket. It fits perfectly.

Great that you can explain to your dealership how to work on cars. Welcome to DSMs.

I don't think I'd be hiring them to do a lot more work. I'd be afraid of getting the call from the tech asking about why the end of the dipstick had all that slippery syrup on it.

well they probably called asking for the key, i know if i was working somewhere and didnt have the key to one of my customers things, im not just going to break something to do what i need to do, im going to call the person and ask for a key, and if he calls back and tells me to break it, then i break it, its not like i would need him to tell me how to break it, but if he did i wouldnt really care...

Yeah thats what happened. They called and asked me for the key. The guy I bought the car from didnt give it to me so I couldnt do anything about it. But as it turns out, the recall kit didnt come with a certain o-ring they need for my fuel tank. So instead of getting my car back yesterday I have to wait until monday. I love how everything falls into place. One thing goes wrong. It gets fixed, then something else comes up...
