can you identify this noise?

heard a lot of engines, not sure on that one doesnt sound like lifter tick.

no its not internal. nothing to do with the lifters valves or anything like that. i put all new pulleys, tensioner, and water pump on. wondering if it could be a pulley.

Balance shaft/rear oil pump sprocket is out of phase. Same thing happened twice on my 92 N/T. At about 2500rpm+ you get a vibrating/ticking sound like that due to it.

Similar noise can also be caused by worn idler/tensioner pulleys.

Caution: MAKE SURE THE BALANCE SHAFT IS PROPERLY POSITIONED. It is possible for the oil pump sprocket timing marks to be properly aligned, and have the balance shaft out of phase. This could result in a SEVERE engine vibration.

And by vibration you cause noise.

I double checked rear balance shaft. it is not out of phase, and all pulleys, tensioners and water pump is new.
