Well im pretty sure just wanted to make sure because the ecu is expensive. My CEL bulb is good but the light wont turn on and there is no communication between the scanner and the Ecu (i have a Snap on Modis, 7.2 equipped). The car is throwing hell of alot of gas so much it wont rev past 2k rpms and it turns the plugs black instantly. Also i cant lean it out with the maft, i tried to retrieve CEL codes manually with a volt tester which has a buzzer. One of the pins im supposed to tap for the CEL codes has a steady gound and when i put in the tester on the both pins it just buzzes ground w/o no flashing or anything. I checked everything for the gas problem i put a new stock pump, checked gas return line , good as well, and pressure is good. Can this be my problem, can it be my ecu please help i dont know what else to do. Thanks to anyone who does.

In a situation like this could you use a n/t ecu to test it?
If so could you temporaraly drive on a nt ecu as well?
Sorry not tryin to Hijack your thread I cant get over 2k and need to check ecu as well.

*EDIT* pulled my ecu last night Cap leaked all over the place.

I'm having a similair problem, 97 GSX, need to get emissions, but the computer won't communicate with the ECU. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the connector? I know that the car actually powers the tool to do the emissions. I'm thinking maybe I don't have 12V to the connector and maybe that's the problem. My CEL works and lights up when I turn on the car, and I don't have any CEL codes. Any help would be great!
