Can somebody identify what this is on my Cam Shaft?

Its a tan, rusty looking spot on the cam shaft (seen through oil filler cap) Can somebody identify what this could be? picture below

And from what you can see how does the cam look wear wise? Im not familiar with cams.

Could be marking paint- that part of the cam touches nothing.

Inside of your head is super-clean....either you recently had the head rebuilt, or you use good oil and change it regularly.

Okay thanks I just worry about stupid things like this but you never know, small things now can be huge issues later . the whole motor was rebuilt about 30,000 miles ago. Kindof unrelated but, does photo uploading to dsmtuners using thier upload tool work for smart phones? I always get an error. And is there a place I can buy a small "dsmtuners.com" logo to slap onto the side-rear windows?

had similiar issue on my cam shaft when i removed the valve cover located in similar location if after market cams can be an error in the ceramic coating nothing to worry about is just discloration due to oil and sediment( reasoning being the metal is porous) if they are stock i agree with it being paint marker, but with you rebuilding the motor i hope the cam shafts wouldnt be stock. and your engine does look very clean

Okay awesome im not the only one They are aftermarket, like 268/272 or something like that Id have to look at the paper again. But thanks for the replies! Saved me from a days worth of stress

As far as uploading did you activate the app for dsmtuners on the phone( is it a android or I phone) if android you need to go to the market place and download it then you should be able to upload. Only problem upload this way is the images may be distorted or the edit option may be disabled and as far as the window banner try dsmgraveyard thyre associated with dsmtuners and I "think" not 100 percent positive but I believe they have one if not try ebay or google for images

no no no. this is nothing more than temp stick / paint marker. can be green, red, blue, tan, white, etc. MOST cams have these including after market cams

Could be camcer, might want to get that checked. Or, as other's stated, paint. Looks clean in there.
