first off the search button gives me a hell of a listing... when i try typing in my question i hate that people bash on each other for making a post that has already been made... some people have different questions after some things have been answered... "i simply feel that if you dont want to see the same thread just dont reply"? because each thread is different in ways.

i am a newby! i apologize..

anyways..

i have a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse 5 speed GSX 100% bone stock with Greedy BOV

i was wondering if i can use the stock 2g inter cooler piping on a big 16g?

from the information that i could find says I CAN NOT?
something about the J-pipe i need to get different?...

now i was wondering is the J-pipe for a front mount different from a j-pipe that goes to stock intercooler.

were do i get the parts i need?

thanks for helping and understanding!!

"i already bought a oem big 16g"

A 16g isn't just plug and play my friend. However to answer your question. Is it possiblle to use the stock SMIC with stock piping: Yes. Should it be done? Probably not.
You will need a J-pipe either way since the outlet for the 16g is on top VS bottom like stock;you need a pipe that connects the IC pipe to the turbo.
You will need a 16g install kit (search google and tons will come up) They will include all the needed hoses, Jpipe, fittings and gaskets to install your turbo. I would also recommend a FMIC to support the much larger than stock turbo. the VRSF is a great kit for under $350.

those things should get you running at stock boost pressure. If you plan on running any more than stock, fuel upgrades will be needed as well.

No you can't. Looking at the outlet of the T25 vs the 16g should make that pretty obvious. The j-pipe for stock intercooler location will bend towards the passenger side and the FMIC one will go towards the drivers side (generally, there's lots of j-pipes out there). You could have somebody like ETS make you one that just points straight down, then use a coupler to angle it 90* toward the passenger side and have an intermediate pipe that connects that to the stock piping, or just buy a hard pipe kit for the stock intercooler location. Instead of doing things twice, I would just wait to install the 16g until you can buy a FMIC to go along with it. That way you're only doing labor once and there will be no leftover parts to sell down the road.

i was planning on buying a front mount after i saved up enough but you guys are right id be wasting my time trying to use stock intercooler... i probably will run the VRSF kitt ill wait a week or 2 so i can afford everything to get done at once! if i was to buy that FMIC thats all i would need right? that basically includes all thatt i would need

i was hoping i can run 15psi on the big 16g my t25 is at 15 psi right now.

i will probly run it at 12 psi until i can afford a wideband.
i have a narrow band i got for free that im using now. but i know those are junk

i plan on doing wire mod to my fuel pump and buying some evo injectors "later down the road"

thanks guys!
1 more quick question

whats max psi i could run on stock injectors?

can you run 15 psi on a 16g on stock fuel? yes. should you? probably not. stock intercoolers heat soak fast on a 16g, especially at higher than stock boost, inducing knock. plus you are edging towards the 'infamous' fuel cut, where the ecu 'sees' more air than it was intended to at stock boost. to be safe, leave it at stock boost until you can get the proper tuning and fuel upgrades to run higher. if need be, I can take pictures of a stock 7 bolt that ran lean and knocked in my own car. not pretty...

I e-mailed vrsf and they said that that they don't have the fmic in stock. They said 6-8 weeks. Dislike!!

Yes but some minor mods need to be made and you will need a j pipe

If you click on both links in post #5, you will see that those things are covered.

Link #1 takes you to a 16g install kit (j-pipe included).

Link #2 A guide to assist with install of the 16g with an install kit. Install kits will vary from vendor, but the process is the same. It is a great resource to know what is involved to install that style turbo.
