Yeah whats the biggest best tubro to get on a stock motor? i dont want to have to mod this and mod that to make it work i just need a better tubro that i can bolt on i heard that big28t is a good one which is just a modfied stock tubro is this ture? and any one who knows a cheap place to convert my stock tubro into one of these or where i can by a big28t?

All we have to go by is his "mod list" and what he tells us. So we have to "assume" that he's given us the full "scoop" with respect to our replies.

"I don't want to mod this or mod that" leads me to believe that he doesn't want to mod anything, just slap on a new turbo and "mash the gas".

He's not asking whats the biggest turbo he can put on his stock motor ! He is asking whats the biggest turbo he can put on a stock motor without having to upgrade everything around it for the car to make the power or run right becuase with the other mods it would take to run a 35R your looking at a few grand extra vs a T28 - Evo316g where you could get away with it for way less more $$

I see, in that case a bolt on gt2876 would be tha best option. You would still need injecter/fuel pump with any of the other options you selected. Or you can run bullshit boost with 450cc injecters, but you will need the fuel pump. I think if the car is stock, than a 14b will take you further then you would want to go on stock fuel/intercooler

i have an EVOIII 16g with no modifications.....its all hooked up to the stock BCS.... i used the install kit from extremepsi with the SS braided oil feed line, j pipe and new gaskets... it only runs at around 10 psi since its hooked up to the stock BCS. the thing still feels alot better than the t25. ive been running it for over a year now and no problems.... if thats not mod free then i dont know what is LOL

A T25 (OEM) is the biggest turbo you can put on a stock motor without doing any mods.

Any turbo that is bigger, even a 14B, will require "some" modifications in order to get any noticeable power increases without putting undue stress on the motor and the "systems" around it.

Turbo first is not a sound method for modding a DSM.

i dunno bout that. you can slap on a 14b and still run the stock boost solenoid and it will be noticeably better than the T25, it flows more at equal boost levels which means more power. plus its a great turbo for a beginner. downside is having to get the install kit if he has a 2g. IMO thats the route i would go. for the price of a good 14b and install kit its still less than a T28 and just as good. the fuel system is still adequate for a 14b at stock boost levels, any more and id recommend at least a rewire and a logger setup for peace of mind.

IMO I would buy the supporting mods for a bigger turbo first. Then worry about what kind of turbo you want to put on. I know you said you didnt want to have to mod everything, but thats why most people buy these cars. Its kind of like buying a whole bunch of gear to go mudding in a truck and never actually going to do it.

i do have a aftermarket air intake and a greedy bov and even a custome manifold and a ucip pipe i belive thats what its called its the pipe the bov connects to but other then that every thing else is stock

and i dont want to have to get bigger injecters fuel pumps and boar out pistion size to use another tubro so from what i read the t28 is the way to go :) cause i like it to be fast but it dosent have to be supper supper fast but right now it is not fast at all :(

if you didn't want to upgrade those things ...I would still recomend buying a cat back & test pipe these will help get the air out since you already have a intake...you don't have to buy a brand new cat back I am sure you can find a nice cat back setup in you local area for around $300 which saves you hundreds of $$

but other than that the only next steps would be a used SAFC which you can buy for $100 & a small walboro 190 for around $50-$75 ...but that would be in the future if you wanted to turn the boost up and to really start feeling what the turbo has !

How much boost are you running?

You need to invest in an exhaust system - downpipe, testpipe or cat and cat back.

The issue with T25 is that it runs out of steam at higher RPMs. The Big T28 will pull all the way through redline.

If you decide to run more fuel, you can get a used EVO fuel pump and EVO injectors and they will most probably end up costing you around the area of $100-$150 for both, depending on who is selling it.

I find it extremely hard to believe that anyone who wants to add a bigger turbo to their car will be able to hold off and keep the boost down (and that's why the turbo first is not the way to go), therefore, even with the "now" current mods and still NOT wanting to upgrade the fuel system I would NOT recommend going with anything other than a stock turbo.

Are we trying to goad this guy into starting a new thread entitled "Why is there a rod hanging out of the bottom of my oil pan?".

More air needs more fuel even if the boost level does not change.

yes but his stock fuel system will be able to compensate for a 14b at those levels. ive seen a 14b ran at 18psi with no mods whatsoever and only 2* of knock retard (logged by dsmlink of course). his stock system will be able to handle the 14b no sweat. not like he needs 550's, 190 and a safc to run a 14b. it is the stock turbo on a 1g afterall, theres no reason why he couldnt run it at the same levels as the stock turbo on a t25 on a 2g without modifying the fuel system.

but yes, i would still recommend a rewire or a 190lph for peace of mind, but it seems this guy just wants to slap a turbo on there thats just as good as his stocker and be on his way, in which case i recommend a 14b+install kit over the T28.

it also has a exhaust system it was on it when i bought it it is lager all the way to the manifold and is a custom exhaust all way around

Even still with the exhaust i would only recomend the 14b. Cause all the exhaust is gonna help is the turbo to spool faster and might gove you a little boost creep. but other wise its not gonna help out the fuel problem you will encounter with a bigger turbo and more boost. Turst me a 14b is plenty enuff turbo for you for not wantin to mod your fuel system or engine internals.
