Can I toss the ring between turbo and exhaust manifold?

Or do I need to put it back in when I install my "new" uncracked exhaust manifold?
Thanks.

PS It couldn't find it mentioned in the 3 "how to" writeups that I read so I figured I'd ask.

As far as I know, that little ring can be tossed. Just make sure you use a new gasket between the turbo and mani so you don't have an exhaust leak.

They put the ring in there to help the stock gasket from blowing out. If you've got an aftermaket, thick gasket such as the rre one then you can toss the ring. Most people port their turbo & exhaust manifold so that gets rid of the step, so you should be fine.
