can I run this set-up without using a fuel pressure regulator

Ok so I have a MAF translator with a 3" GM MAF, 550cc injectors, and I have a walbro 255lph fuel pump. So my question is that, can I run this set-up without using a fuel pressure regulator, I was looking to run about 16 pound, or what ever this set-up permits me to run. Any feedback would be nice thanks. I'm also running a 16g right now too.

Go ahead if you want to wash out your cylinders, ive seen only a couple people run a 255 without an afpr and not run pig rich, but the rest were asking for motor failure.

It is recommended to get a afpr with the 255 walbro, but you can get away without it. I would recommed you get a wideband first though if youre on a budget.

Not using an AFPR? That will make your motor run rich. What size injectors are you running?

Well i wouldn't go with a cheap "ebay" afpr. Fuel lab and aeromotive make good afprs.

Just like the guys above said. You could run with an afpr, but then what was the point of getting the 16g and 255 ? Might as well go the whole 9 yards and finish up, get the afpr, wideband, and tune it.
Otherwise you are just going to run poorly and kill your gas mileage.

oh mann, $150 dollars. oooo, they are kind of expensive. i am going to have to look around.

I plan on running mine without a AFPR for a little while until I have the extra $200. But My mod list is up to date. Plus a certain vendor told me that they have done it to numerous cars with out problems.

I also remember seeing something on this site about flow rates with out rewire and it was like 195 lph or something like that.

it wont matter if its a 6 bolt or not.

But the stock wire doesn't allow for all the voltage to reach the pump like a rewire would.

so we would definitely need to upgrade our fuel pressure regulators correct unless we rewire. right?

a rewire will cause it to flow more. the stock wire will let it flow less.
I still plan on getting a AFPR it will just have to wait a couple of weeks. besides the car is in parts right now.
