I am in the hunt for a new engine for my Talon (old one I found out was blown) I am also in the hunt for a new turbo (definitely has shaft play on the old one). I want to upgrade to a 50 trim but for the time being I can only afford the new/used engine and a turbo, However, would it be OK to run the 50 trim on low boost settings until I got the remaining necessary supporting mods? If so what psi would be recommended.
Current Mods
255lph fuel pump
2G ported Manifold
3 inch turboback exhaust
Manual boost controller
boost gauge
Aeromotive FPR
MSD wires/ NGK BR7ES
ACT 2600 clutch
Will have Intake along with engine and turbo Probably Dejontool 3"
Future mods
SBR FMIC
AFC/pocketlogger
660-720cc injectors (suggestions are welcome)
272 or 264 camshafts
necessary gauges
lightened flywheel
I'm probably forgetting things but it'll be a slow process getting the future mods and I wouldn't be running the car very often until I at least had the fuel and tuning mods. Please don't flame me about putting too big a turbo on before I have supporting modifications. I realize that. I'm just trying to save time and money.
