CAMSHAFT position censer

ok so i got the check engine light and it came back with p0340, which says camshaft position censer circuit miss function , so i replaced it and the car seems to be running really good, so my question is would the censer make my car feel like it lost power or even make it buck like a misfire ?
and how long do you have to drive it to see if the engine light comes back on? i hope that was what made the car run the way that it was,

also the book said that because it is a circuit that it may not be the censer but one of the wires or the PCM, what is the PCM? i know im ganna be like when you guys tell me.

i don't know what the PCM is, but yes if the computer can't tell what angle the cam is at your car will run like crap.

Well is the SENSOR is bad then the car is going to run really bad and sometimes they won't even start. Your going to usually get misfire codes along with it as well. When you get a code such as a P0340, it refers to the camshaft position sensor circuit. The sensor itself is part of the circuit. Usually it trips the CEL because either voltage is too high or too low. If the light was going to come back on it would almost immediately if it was something other than the sensor.

ok i ran the car for 10 miles and light hasnt came back on so, so far so good
