bypassing MAF

hey all I know it has been done but how do you go about bypassing the MAF all together?
I've got a 2g maf NOW on my car but I want to bypass it all completely.Aany ideas and also any gains? Horror stories about doing it?

Yeah, DSMlink is working on their speed density version too. Should be pretty interesting...

Why?

Because speed density + wideband = badass tuning fun.

Use a HKS VPC. No need for an afc or any obtrusive containers.Vent Bypass valve to atmosphere and from what ive heard they work good for daily driven street cars.

Im thinking of investing in one because a 2g setup would be good but im trying to clear the clutter in the engine bay of my 1g.

Have you used a VPC? I just want to make sure you're endorsing a product that you have experience with. We usually frown on members giving advice on things they've "heard" from others.

The VPC is a bit older as far as technology goes. Much of the DSM community has jumped on the MAFT bandwagon to get away from the factory MAF. I don't think the VPC is quite as popular as it once was among DSMers.

wait so hakcenter, which are you using currently, and in your [?]second[/?] post were you saying that dsmlink is going to be bad for this or good. i plan on getting dsmlink and i know they have an upgrade program where you can send in your old set up and pay a reduced price and get whatever the new version is, so im not to worried about waiting until they finish work on their speed density program
