Bypassing radiator fan relay??

Hi fellow dsmrs, quick question.
Recently my driver side fan went out, now...i turned on the a/c and both fans turned on, so I am assuming the fan itself works?
I've been thinking of bypassing both fans so they can both be turned on via a external switch.
Before I do this, can this be dangerous to my car in anyway? Even assuming I wire everything 100% correct?
Any advice would be much appreciated

And what voltage of wire should I be getting for this project?

Gstwithpsi was being as helpful as they come. He provided u with great info. If both fans turn on when ac is turned on them the issue is specific to that fan. My money is on a temp sensor, ground, or ecu.

from what im reading to this point i would not be amazed if you tugged on a pin to the ignition switch connector. that is the only thing i left out that could affect your fans. i need a diagram of the electrical portion but ive seen on allot of other cars where multiple components are powered on with the switch and can have a single component like your fan stop functioning due to faulty ignition switch or a pin pulled a little out of the connector. so that is what your up against the temp sensor, the 3 fan relays which are called micro relays that go in under hood fuse block or the ignition switch for the fan controls and powers. you can test the temp sensor there are resistance specs that can be looked up i feel i found a copy of a online manual on the forums a while back, the micro relays and generic relays are at any auto store and if you decide to wire something up the relay you are looking for would be a generic relay looks just like the one pictured above. that size relay is meant to run more current than the stock micro relay so you should not have issues burning it up with the stock fans if rewired. im just going to throw out there that the three parts to properly fix this if you threw all 3 at it for shits are fairly cheep. interested to hear how you fix your car
