Burning oil with no visible leaks(HELP PLEASE)

Hi guys I just brought a 93 tsi awd with alot of mods and ive had to add 2qts of oil less than 400 miles. Is this common on turbo cars or is there a problem. There is on visible leaks and very little smoke. I see very little smoke after idle for a while and a little when changing gears(but not all the time). check my profile for list of mods. Motor is due for overhaul. Prob has weak oil rings along with shot valve seals...

Poke the finger in the exhaust pipe, wipe the pipe and see if it comes out slimey which means oil is going past the rings....

what will that cost me(estimate). and do you think it could be the turbo because the body has 120k and the rebuild has 61k

It could be your turbo, u can check your piping for oil. I dont think you would loose 2qts of oil in their but dont rule anything out.

You rubed the exhaust or IC piping? Is your oil catch can full?

exhaust....havent checked the oil catch can yet....im new at all this...i wouldnt kno how to be honest....thanks

Also are you using synthetic oil? If so, I read that it wont smoke as much. But I dont no how true that is!

Check your PCV valve.
Screws in at the back of your valve cover, on the left side.
Take the vacuum line off of it, then screw the actual valve out with a 14mm(i think)
Then blow and suck through it. It should only allow air through one-way.

You could also, crack it loose, then start up your car till it get to operating temp.
Then spin it till it's all the way out.
Then plug the end with your thumb, you should feel vacuum. If not, then you gotta plugged up line which could also cause oil consumption.

Don't quote me on this, but i think PCV valves are supposed to be changed every 30,000 km?

True - thing about a plugged PCV valve is that it could blow out main seals if the blowby pressure gets too high in the block ....
