Alright, so I am burning about a quart of oil every 150 or so miles and am at a loss as to why. Stock setup, stock boost, here is what happens. When I shift under boost, a cloud poofs out of my exhaust, more boost=bigger cloud. But here is the deal, when I am not in boost and let off the gas, it also clouds out?
So, say I am just about to enter boost, but then SLOWLY let off on the throttle...little to no smoke. But if I just straight let up off the throttle at the same point in vacuum there is a cloud as if I was shifting in boost?
I'm at a loss here.
And I guess while I am here I will ask another question. I have a 1990 Throttle Body and wanted to run a dedicated line to my Boost gauge from the TB instead of teeing into the FPS hose.
This is how it looks right now.

But the gauge is only reading like, 2-3 psi......whats going on? 3 of the hoses are plugged, and I am tapped into 1 of them. Does it need to be a specific one? Or should I just bag it and tap into the FPS?
THANKS!

I think your turbo is bad. Check for shaft play. oil is passing on your turbine side.this will cause alot of smoke. put your hose on the intake and not your tb.

So the turbo didn't have any shaft play, but there was some oil sitting in the bottom of the intake closest to the turbo....so...the turbo seals are bad?
Is that something where I can just replace the seals? Or do I have to replace the whole turbo?

I've already got a Hallman Pro boost controller, and I know I will need bigger injectors and a new fuel pump, but why the GM Maf and translator? He said the SAFC would come with it, would that not be able to control things enough at least until I go with either DSMlink or Jackal?

I dont know alot about the 1 and 2 gen mafs. I ve just always used a gm maf and translator. you'll need this with dsm link anyway.

Alright, adding another issue. I moved my boost gauge to a spot where I KNOW it worked when the engine was in the other car.
Here.

But it STILL isn't reading any boost. I can hear the turbo spooling, and I can hear the BOV doing it's job, and the stock gauge(I know it isn't accurate) is going crazy....The boost gauge worked 3 weeks ago when it was in the other car? Now it doesn't? Could I just have an EPIC boost leak in the intake manifold or something?? Help

Ok, just wanted to throw one more thing out there, could it be anything OTHER than the turbo seal? Is there any way I can take the turbo off and check it without having to drain all the oil and everything?
And then, i deleted my AC, so the fan on the drivers side is pretty much useless now right(unless I wire them both to come on, which I don't want to), so can I just pull it out to give me more room to work around right there?

if your boost gauge isnt working then check your fitting tees. ive found that some of the tees come blocked when they are molded

Is your boost gauge moving at all? Have you checked IN/OUT shaft play on the turbo as well? If you need it rebuilt, contact jusmx141.

Alright, so I just decided to buy a different Boost gauge (one with vac/boost so i wouldn't need 2 gauges). Ran ALL new lines. and everything is working hunky dory as far as that goes now, so I'm not sure if the gauge was bad, or the line was kinked bad, or what? But the gauge works. What is stock boost from the stock wastegate? 14lbs?

best palce for future ref is to take boost off the manifold in my opinion. i have never had an issue taking it from there. 10-15psi is stock for a 2g

my bad:ohdamn: stock 1g boost is anywhere from 8-12 psi. thats weird you cant get a boost reading from your mani. check your hose to make sure there is no kink or crap in them.
