Alright guys I am building my GVR4 (block is out) and was wondering what everyone is doing these days for BSE.

Is it better to pull the shafts and spin the bearings and get a OEM stubby? or I read something about leaving 1 in and getting a stubby or something.

This car is getting a .20 over build with 2g pistons powered with a e316g, looking for 300-350 range.

I'll have to recommend leaving the front shaft in. Once your flip the bearings to block the oil holes you then have to do a lot of work to control the increase in oil pressure.

There is also the difference in cost. Around $50 for a BSE kit compared to about $15 for a stubby shaft.

Since the motor is out, Take both shafts out, flip the bearing and use an oem stub shaft. Just buy the kit and it will have everything you need including the front case cap. As for the oil pressure, port out the relieve valve on your oil filter housing to lower pressure. It only takes a few mins with a dremel.

I do like the balance shaft kit from GSC power. It's like a lower balance shaft, just with no weights on it . It supports the oil pump gears better for if your running alot of rpms. And I think STM has a AN fitting adapter plug to plug up the upper hole on the front case, then u could tie it into a catch can if you wanted. Just some options I have seen out there.
