Broken fuel line at filter

Well, for starters I wasn't even going to replace my fuel filter, but I might as well since I have it out. I was trying to remove it to get a little better access to the rear transmission mount. Anyway, while trying to remove the fuel filter, I twisted and snapped the metal feed line that connects to the bottom of the fuel filter.

I could try and repair it in the engine bay but there's just not enough room to work, so I was thinking about just going back towards the gas tank, cutting the line, and replacing the whole length with a braided line, to save myself some hassle down the road.

So my question is.. which fuel line runs to the filter? I tried to trace it to the underside of the car, it looks to be the middle line in the cluster?

One of the best mods i did was to replace my whole fuel line/filter. I had leaky lines, so I went down to NAPA and picked up a boat filter and housing unit. I then bolted this near the gas tank and ran some rubber fuel line to it. From there I went with just plain old fuel line (bigger diameter than stock to near my fuel rail, and then went with some nice anodized line and jb welded it to the end of my fuel rail. Now my fuel filters are huge, cheap and a whole lot easier to replace than those stockers!

the filter + housing is like $30.
Lines, fittings and all that was around $50 i think.

I would do that!

is the napa in canada on steriods?? i couldn't find fuel line hose that is meant for fuel injected systems and the other fuel hoses were only good for 50psi.

This is an excellent idea. I never even thought of relocating the fuel filter . I'm kind of in the middle of getting the car back on the road, and even that 80 bucks for the fuel system is gonna take away from the other NECESSARY parts to get this thing rolling. I hate being broke...

What is the max psi on a stock fuel pump and assembly? I ask because I noticed that the previous owner replaced the fuel line that goes from the filter to the fuel rail with a very generic looking rubber hose cemented on each end with some orange goop.

Your base fuel pressure is 43 psi. Hose rated for 50 psi is not a good idea.

if you have a 2g your oem fpr increases fuel pressure as boost increases so you could easily get 60psi with a t25 at 17psi and blow that line apart and have some problems real quick.

so as he asked...could he just do that cause i have the same problem...well min didnt break but i twisted and twisted right back and i dont think im leaking but u never see the tiny tears...
