I broke one of the caliper slide bolts off inside the bracket. It still threads into the bracket, it's broken off past that. Would I be able to tighten that bolt back up and still drive it like that? As long as it's pushing on the broken bolt still I don't see why it wouldn't work just till I get a new bracket. Also any tips on getting stuck rotors off??

Same thing happened to me.. But, i didnt take a chance driving on the road like that.
I'd imagine it would only cause uneven wear on the brake-pads, thats it.

Any local parts store should carry them as a set for under $40.

Thanks for the reply. The bolt was already seized up inside the bracket anyways so I don't see how it would be any different now. Anybody know where I can order just the bracket?? Most places carry the whole caliper.

I also would not feel comfortable driving as your front brakes control your stopping more than the rear and have that added stress as well.

I would not drive that thing around with a broke bolt. You never know what could happen when you get it under some extreme breaking. You should be able to pick a bracket up at your local junk yard fairly cheap.

Thanks for the advice. I went on a small test drive with it and it seemed fine, I just have to drive it home from my parents since I have to work in the morning. I'm gonna go ahead and order the caliper from advance tomorrow.

Mine did the same thing Ive been driving mine for over a 1000 miles and not a problem besides the inner brake pad wearing out 10 times faster then the outside one. Ive beenputting it off till I get money to buy new rotors and pads. I already bought 2 piston calipers and brackets to replace them.

Anyone who reads this please dont try to drive with a broken caliper bolt. I drove to the auto store like that and almost hit a car because there was so much drag from the brakes that I guess they overheated then brake-fade. Wheels were super hot. Don't do this, not even to the auto store like I did.
