I have a 97 gsx i bought 1 year ago with 150000 miles .It was supposed to been rebuilt with 50k on rebuild. I was do about 40 mph and lost all rpm and died hasn't started since.I took top timing belt cover off belt looks new and intacted.change fuel pump with walbro 255 lph it doesn't even sound like it want to fire.in going to check for spark tonight after work.any advise would be appreciated.what else can i test for.

My money's on the crank sensor, same thing happened to me a while back. If this is the case, you shouldn't have any spark. To swap it out, you'll have to remove the lower timing belt cover, which means you'll have to remove the pullies, belts, power steering pump, and alternator.

There is a rewire kit, one goes to the batters, ground and the rest get spliced in

And the one on the left if about 3 months old.. I'd check all fuel, from the pump to the filter, to the injector seals and every piece on the rail feed etc. If the car Will be down for a day or too.

I ended up replacing coils, plugs wires, checking plugs near the radio and almost buying a new ecu, and power transistor, before I realized I haven't checked fuel. I recently ran my buddies afpr, and he ran e85 so I'm guessing some stayed in and returned to the tank stirring up the rust. At least that's how I believe it happened.

And this isn't all I sucked out.
