I have been doing a bit of research when I have free time, I'm looking to replace rotors, calipers, pads. I have found some good information of "big brake kits" on the forums, however, I'm really needing to look for something less expensive.

I tried doing a search on this kit, http://www.autoanything.com/brakes/power-stop-z16-evolution-caliper-brake-kit . But nothing came up. Is anyone familiar with "power stop evolution" and there kits? I'm looking at there 4-Wheel Brake Kit with Calipers, its on sale from $640 to $520.

I might go to shucks/napa/autozone and see what they have in comparison. What I like about this kit is that the calipers are pwder coated, and they seem decently priced. Thought I might ask around before I look any closer.

Best budget brake setup:

  • 05/06 Outlander brackets to make use of larger rotors up front, yet still retaining OEM calipers.
  • Centric semi-loaded rebuild calipers (no pads).-Rock Auto
    • Hit them with your choice of caliper paint if that is important to you.
  • Centric blank rotors (regular or high carbon) Rock Auto or Autoanything (free shipping).
    • Blanks will provide more usable surface area.
    • Can be turned.
    • Less likely to crack.
  • Performance pads of your choice. It really depends on application.
    • Hawk HP or HPS (HPS are dusty but perform better)-Autoanything
    • Carbotech AX-6 if you don't mind the cost.-Carbotech
  • SS brake lines of choice.-supporting vendor
  • Quality brake fluid such as ATE type 200.

^ Exactly. This would be your best bet for a budget unless you could find the Evo 8 brakes for a steal.

This is your best option for a budget setup!
I would like to point out that the brackets and rotors you need are specifically from an 05 or 06 Outlander. Just to clear things up for you, and future readers. :)
