ok i bought my 91 tsi a couple months ago and the bov is venting. it runs fine and everything but i know it's better for it to be recirculated so i was gonna buy some hose and fix it. well the problem is i can't find any hose that will fit. all the parts stores around here is up to 1" id hose and it needs to be at least 1 1/8". will i have to go to the dealership to find some hose?? i cant even explain to the people that work at the parts stores around here what i need it for b/c they are idiots. so if u guys know where i can get it or anything else that might help please let me know

tried home depot and lowes both biggest rubber hose they had was 7/8" i.d. they did have some of the clear lookin pvc hose that would fit but i dunno how that would hold up to heat under the hood

Funny you should mention this. Im actually searching for the same recirculation hose. None of the parts stores (Pep boys, NAPA Auto Parts, Autozone) have any idea what I'm talking about and I don't wanna go to the dealer cuz they'll rip me off.

I had that problem as well...my mechanic had a hose laying around his shoip he gave me which fit perfect...I think it is a RADIATOR hose from a different car...

this thread is old but, im having this same issue. my stock hose is too short to fit since the flange is turned in a 90 degree to the right of the stock location. i havn't even hooked up my new bov due to not wanting to vent(i hate idle issues) i have no idea where to find a hose thats somewhat S shaped with a slight angle in the bottom end?

Just go to the auto parts store of your choice and ask for a X" diameter radiator hose. Most places will sell sections that you can make fit, or there are bendable sections as well. That's what I did, and it works 100%.

I had the exact same issues and that is how I solved it

I had that problem. Autozoners are idiots where Im from. Mine was at a real weird angle to. I had to go to an industrial rubber warehouse to get what I needed. I fabbed it up with some hose and pvc angles. Looks like horseshit but it works till I can find something better.

I used a piece of 1-1/4" flex rad hose on the last customer's car that I needed a recirc tube for:

It fit perfectly and worked fine. Just make sure you know about how long you'll need it to be- they come in various lengths and cannot be trimmed and reclamped because there is a metal wire in the flexible portion of the hose.

The Dayco part number for the one I used is 81041; it's 1.25" on both ends and around 14" overall in length. Sells for $8.98

^^ That looks exactly like the stuff I used. A bit long, but it works great.

I know, but they only had one size in stock. It's not terribly long; it just takes the "long way" there.

Wow nice, I need one of those myself. I knew if I went in there asking for a turbo recirculation hose for my car I'd get blank stares LoL.

alright, thx guys that hose looks like it'll work great. im pretty sure my zip tied rtv'd stock 2g bov is the source of my unable to make anything >5psi boost LOL. finally going to feel what a turbo is meant to do.

go to autozone and look at the radiator hoses they have for the cars and try to find one with the corect bends in it.

:boring: Sounds like you've forgotten/overlooked the first step in troubleshooting boost problems. You really need to do a boost leak test. You'll find a lot more loose stuff than you might think.
