I'm lookin to install a Greddy Type-S BOV soon and I was wondering the pro's and con's of buying the whole UICP verus just an adapter flange.

There are no cons to buying a new UICP.

The stock 2g one sucks so bad it's well-worth it to get new UICP.

Agreed, if you haven't look very closely at the stock upper pipe, right where it goes down below the engine bay and onto the top part of the SMIC, it is 2" or 2.25" wide and an 1" if your lucky thick...the air is VERY restricted at this part of the UICP. I did Dejon Tool upper and lower...seems to work well..did other things at the same time so we'll see....turbo and bigger IC are the noticable upgrades.

only con is getting the old pipes off and fitting the new ones on. The Dejon
Tool pipes have pretty close tolerances. But it was a great mod! And that con really isnt a con, its more of a neusiance(sp?).

So would this be a good choice then its a Greddy Upper ICP. I found it for $40 but its missing the 90 degree elbow. I can make that elbow right? From what I read about it the Type S will hook right up to that? On a side note Is the Type S worth getting?

Yes, it will, if that is a 1G flange you will likely need to drill two holes in the flange...it won't effect anything..it's just that the Greddy Type-S bolts are not as far apart as the 1G's...you just place the BOV over the iG flange...mark where the holes are relative to the ones already there....then drill...walah!

^^^^that looks like a greddy flange to me.

and according to my freind who has hard ic piping, it makes a world of difference, youll feel it in your butt dyno right away, with noticeable gains in youre exhaust tone and spoolup time. he says his t25 holds peak boost better now too but i have yet to see it in person.

and i have a Type-S. i love it, its easy as hell to install(2 minutes if you know anything about basic crap)take the old off and put the new in its place. if you order that ic pipe you will not need the 2g flange kit, the kit is only needed with the stock UICP. if you get the hard IC pipe with the Greddy flange already installed its easy as writing youre name for the teacher.
