So I've been looking through Google to try and resolve my issue with my Greddy BOV.

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/420446-greddy-type-rs-flutter-surge.html

This is the best thread that I've come across but I need a little more advise now

When I first got the car running... I could free rev and buld boost and make the BOV chirp like Im assuming its supposed to sound.... I have not replaced anything other that added a Greddy FMIC and I didnt change the UICP... Just the lower. It still made the chirp after installing that. Now, sitting still or driving, the turbo is surging and the BOV will not shirp under any amount of boost(im boosting 12 psi).

The other day I held my hand at the valve and slightly rev'd the car... no boosting at all... and after releasing the throttle... a heafty amount of air came out of the BOv. No boost so no surging but im pretty sure it's not supposed to release any air while in a vaccume, right?

Please help me anybody:cry:

Oh and my car is an auto

Did you do a blt after the install? And do u have the bov reserculated if not that my be your problem

No its not recirculated. I was under the impression that since im an auto... I didnt need to recirc it

Vacuum is what pulls the bov open.

so it's normal that it will release air even under no boost?
Should I still remove the small spring out of it? Im only running 12 psi

Mine worked great after I removed the small spring. Read on the evo forums a bunch of guys were doing that.
Try it and see if it helps.

That is quite wrong. As long as the vehicle is using a MAS system, mass air flow (what mitsubishi uses from the factory), your BOV, bypass valve, needs to be reciculated.

The volume of air on the charged air system is calculated before the turbo, thus any air leaving the system, IE vented bypass valve, will be a loss of un-metered air. The MAS can no calculate air loss after the sensor. That's why boost leak tests are so important to our turbo systems(unless other tuning methods are used(SD, GM MAF).
