so i bought a "16g turbo" i installed it on my car ran no check engine lights or anything so ebverything was good but i was searching the forums and found http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/313105-16g-serial-numbers.html (16g serial numbers) checked it out and turns out i have a 14b...now my question is how is the 14b compared to a 16g? also how much boot can i put into the 14b? i only have a BOV but im getting dsmlink and installing my blitz electronic boost controller so im just trying to get an idea

I hope you did'nt give alot of money for it. You can pick up 14b turbos for around 150 bucks all day long in great shape. 14b is a stock turbo, also 16g turbos came in three different common types. But I'm sure someone else can explain it better then I can.

There is nothing wrong with a 14b.And i think you will still very much like it.They spool pretty quick, and offer some alright airflow. So its alot better than the stock t25,but flows more air,and the spool is nice too.

Depending on mods,14bs can boost 20 psi all day if you want.Even at stock wg level you will notice a bit more power compared to the t25.So there is no real need for concern here.Have fun with the 14b untill you need more airflow.

i bought my car with a big 16g turbo installed what is the differance between stock and big 16g turbo.

Apart from one being a 16g and one being a T25, they're exactly the same. :aha:
