Is there any downside to using the port on the bottom of a 6 bolt oil filter housing for the turbo oil feed line? There are three ports on the front of the OFH facing the headlights(all of which are TERRIBLY stripped from the last owner). However the port on the bottom has not been molested (port facing the ground), I'm thinking that oil from this port would be unfiltered. Can anybody with more knowledge of the OFH chime in here?

You could always take the OFH off and tap the holes that are stripped out. Do this with the OFH off the car so that way you can clean and keep any metal shavings out of the motor. It's also good because you'll get a chance to clean up that part of the engine bay.

I think feeding from the head largely depends on what turbo your using. MHI 14b and 16g and what not is okay from the head. Ball bearing turbo not requiring much oil is okay to feed from the head. Large aftermarket journey bearing like 3/4 of the turbos out there should get a more direct oil source. Feed from filter housing for sure. There should be to bungs that are very close to each other and one is bigger than the other. Those two are the plugs you would want to pull and use to feed oil. But it sounds like those are the two plugs that you said got messed up fromthe last owner... $hitty
