Has anyone ever cut a coil or so off the spring I'm their mbc to help with lowering boost?

I have my MBC backed off so far it is just safe enough for it to not fall out. Seeing as you back it off to lower boost i was thinking cutting a coil off the spring would enable me to effectively lower it some more?

Just bypass the MBC and run wategate pressure. Run your vacuum line from the turbo straight to the wastegate. That is as low as you will be able to get.

I know WG spring pressure is the lowest you can run but I'm trying to run in the 15-18 range. I backed the controller out that much and got just a hair under 20..

Um...stock wastegate on DSMs is around 10psi. If you backed your MBC all the way back and you are hitting 20 psi, then either your controller is faulty, you're turning it the wrong way, or it's connected incorrectly.

it defiantly should not be running at 20 with a controller at its minimum.. i turned mine the wrong way the first time because it was dark and thought it was broke because i was still at waste gate pressure

Um...stock wastegate on DSMs is around 10psi. If you backed your MBC all the way back and you are hitting 20 psi, then either your controller is faulty, you're turning it the wrong way, or it's connected incorrectly.

With my MBC backed all the way out I run 14 psi on my 14b. There are a lot of varriables. 20 psi does sound high though.

ill just throw my 0.02 cents... this would be your best bet for now IMO

TAKE THE SPRING IN SOME VISE GRIPS AND COMPRESS IT ALL THE WAY DOWN... MAKE SURE YOU DONT GO TOO FAR OR YOULL DAMAGE THE SPRING,, THEN GET A SMALL TORCH OR ON A STOVE AND HEAT IT UP 20 SECONDS BUT NO FURTHER DEPENDING ON HOW STRONG THE FLAME IS... NO UNCLAMP THE SPRING AND SEE IF IT SHRUNK... NO PUT IT RIGHT BACK AND GIVE IT A TRY... IF IT WORKS THEN GOOD. BUT IF IT SHRUNK TOO MUCH JUST PULL IT A BIT TO THE DESIRED LENGTH...!!

BUT NEVER CUT THE SPRING hope it helps

Or better yet, bypass the MBC like I said above and see if your MBC is even part of the problem. If you run wastegate pressure only and still hit 20 psi then it's not your MBC.

I know for a fact controller works and WG work and is hooked up correctly. This did only happen after installing long route fmic. I know this has happened to people before so that's why I asked.

I'm going to try a couple methods and get
back with a solution!
