block-fitting size for turbo coolant on the 7-bolt?

3/8 NPT fits great in that hole. Been running mine like that for years.

Really? I heard without cooling a Mitsu turbo that thermal expansion causes the 270° bearing to open up like old faithful, spewing oil everywhere. It sounded plausible to me... but I'm not Mythbusters. I will admit I wasn't speaking from my own experience.

I would not run that turbo dry, but I guess do it if you have to.

Search around here. There's a handful of threads with people that drive several years on MHI turbos without coolant (myself included). I'd run a BB turbo wet, but it's really not necessary on a journal bearing turbo.
 
So, I'm a bit confused as to what exactly I need. A lot of this BSP, -AN, BSPT fittings are like Chinese to me.

So, I have the option of either using an 3/8 NPT adapter to screw nicely into the hole?

Or I can use the brown steel plug and some thread sealant to block off the hole and run an oil cooler and run the 16G dry?

What am I looking to run in that hole? A 3/8 NPT to what -AN? Then do I need another fitting?

I would use the 3/8 NPT to -6AN line fitting. Run a (NPT) tap through the threads CAREFULLY. I have done this before and it works.
 
Can anybody provide a oem part number for this ? I've spent a good amount of time on the net looking but no dice. Its the male to female adapter/coolant fitting that's being discussed in this thread. It screws directly into the block of a 7-bolt and recives a banjo bolt into it.
 
Alright guys, sorry if this is an old post. It was the information i searched for for hours. I just want to post the correct information for the next guy.

Those Pegasus fittings wont work as they are BSPP, so the thread going into the block isnt tapered. You need a 3/8 BSPT to 6AN which I will link from Summit. Even if the Pegasus fitting worked, the oring seal isnt the type of seal you need for our cast blocks. The fitting bellow has an oring that where seal where its needed.

If you want the OEM fitting that goes into the block or any item in that general vicinity, here are the part numbers (thanks 19Eclipse90)

MD306413 for the hard line.
MD314117 for the banjo bolt; the bolt itself is a M14 x 1.50 mm pitch x 25 mm long.
MF660065 for the crush washers.
MD314114 for the joint that threads into the block.

Just highlight the part number and click search to find sellers of said items.
