Yes but now I'm in a new hole.

messing around with my car and it hit me....

the Stock boost guage in my car isn't working....so i went hmmm.... and that happend the same time my CEL came on and i started running REALLY rich.... So I went....what happend the day that happend....I remember I was on my way home when the car started acting really wierd in that, it didn't want to idle, and it was doing the cutting thing i described before where i couldn't hold a steady speed of anything over 50.....and it happend when I left early from NADC car show...and reason I left early was because my ECU had come in the mail...MY ECU!

so I slapped my old ECU in there... BOOM! boost gauge works, CEL is off, Car idles normally (other then it is idling at 2,500 but that's due to cold idle and idle screw is turned out all the way..WHAT THE #### I GOT SOLD A BROKEN ECU THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY OUT OF A RUNNING CAR! and even my little buzzer that I left hooked up to my car to check the CEL, its giving me is Code "Normal State" W.T.F!!!!!!!!!

or

this other ECU is so ####ed up it wont show a CEL, but that wouldn't explain why some things that weren't even working with the ecu i bought are working now?! agh w.t.f

but the car still isn't running right even tho no CEL is on.... It miss's with out boost and or the car is cold. and it does the whole holy hell fuel cut super jerk type thing.

Fuel Cut = too much Air, not enough fuel correct? so somewhere I'm not getting the correct amount of fuel supply'd to my engine or hardcore Vacuum\boost leaks, I will have to do another Boost leak test, but last time I did one everything was A-OK....what could it be? I know the Exhaust Turbo Housing is cracked..could this cause that problem?

so now I'm clueless, what should I try now since CEL is off???

I'll be coming thru Nashville Sat/Sun heading for Ft Campbell. More than welcome to use my logger to pull the codes. Let me know.

With all those codes being related to sensor ground, I would suspect a sensor ground issue inside the ECU.

Thomas Dorris

Yes, The ECU I bought was indeed bad, luckily they are letting me send it back for Refund.

My old ECU is in there now, but Still having issues...

On the plus side, the CEL is off now so that's good :)
and I'm averaging about 15-18 mpg instead of the 4-7 I had before. So the car is actually worth driving now :)

But Driving I can barely get the car to go past 3K, unless I hit full boost BY 3K.

It's either missing, or Fuel Cut.

The Car is acting like I have a "Stutter Box" like alot of the AWD DSM's have and what not. Like I'll be driving, and be making my way up to 3k and all the sudden it will go "Buh buh buh buh buh" like a stutter box equiped dsm or just like hitting a rev limiter... It's not running near as rich, and it pulls much much harder then it did with the broken ECU (no duh ha). Any Idea's on what I am experiencing? and why?

I'm thinking maybe Vacuum leak, because I found some today while messing with my car and it seemed like everytime I fixed one the car got betterish...

It revs pretty good in neutral now too.

Finally Fixed it.

Turned out to be timing had jumped a tooth....So I quickly redid timing (more like 3 Hours w\ no brakes) and wah-lah. Car runs like it's fresh from the factory...Minus the Infamous DSM random Miss at Idle; which I believe is just me needing new plugs.

MAN it's so much faster :) and just drives soo much better :)

Thanks to all who contributed to helping me track down the problem.
