whats up everybody..
I currently have an ebay big t3/t4 turbo on my car right now that is working solid with no shaft play, but takes forever to spool up and want something more quicker spooling and reliable.
I recently got a small 16g w/ j-pipe, an old school AFC(with the turn knobs), a turbo timer, and a stock 2g manifold.
Is that all i will need to do the swap?(i have many other mods- AFPR, FIC 750's,etc.)
Also, ECU wise, i am tuned with a DSMchips.com chip which is set for the big turbo and all that. Being that i am going to a much smaller turbo, i'm assuming i have to remove that chip. Should i do that at the same time i do the turbo swap?
Also, i've heard that tuning with the old school AFC is super easy, but can be dangerous and cause detonation.
Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

Get a wideband and a logger for starters.
As long as your eprom is scaled for your 750cc injectors, the safc will work fine to fine tune the a/fs.
Do you know if your chip still has a stock timing map or was it setup for high boost/low timing or anything like that?

My recommendation would be to buy a chip burner and use Tunerpro(free) and do the chip yourself and eliminate the need for the safc altogether. Your chip is most likely already setup with the main features you would add, so all you would have to do is modify the timing and fuel as necessary.

i think that those 750s are going to be too big to properly tune on a afc. I would go smaller.
Chip burning is a lot better and reliable considering you know some about computers and such

i was thinking that too, i was thinking of going 650's or even 550's. thanks for the input everyone

As long as the ECU is programmed for the 750s then they will work as if they were stock injectors and safc can be used for fine tuning of fuel.
With just the SAFC, 750s are out of its tuning range as it "hides" airflow.

I don't know anything about computers and did a little research online about hex code and was able to figure it out.
Most of the major changes like injectors, idle, fuel, timing, etc don't need hex changes as the definition files are set up to allow a numerical input.
