Ok, I really need some help..Im not exactly new to the dsm world, but I do not know alot about them. I have a 95 Talon TSI FWD...Heres what is going on..I bought the car approx. 1 week ago, and saw it would smoke just a little bit after moderate-hard accleration...Im thinking no big deal...I get a 3 inch cat-back exhaust put on with the cats taking completely off..I come back from the muffler shop and rev it up for my buddies, and they say slim-no smoke..I then change the spark plugs to NGK V-Power and gap them at .030....And I went into town last night, and now at idle it's puffing a steady grayish/whiteish smoke..And when I rev it up or give it any amount of acceleration, nothing but big clouds of garyish/whiteish smoke where I can barely see behind me...Had a mechanic friend look at it, and he put his hand to the exhaust pipe and said he smelled raw fuel...Ive asked around and some say it's running to rich, some say its the chemicals on the new exhaust burning off, some say rings are fried, and some say head gasket is blowed.....But when I accelerate, it has full power...No power loss,hesitation, or anything...So any help would be great right now..

I then change the spark plugs to NGK V-Power and gap them at .030
Why? DSM turbos want BPR6ES at .0028. Don't try goofy gizmo plugs. Don't even try them. Pull those out, put them in the pockets of your motorcycle jacket for tailgaters, and go back to what's tried, true, and the only recommended plug for our motors.
Yes, you're going to smell fuel in the exhaust of a de-catted car.

And please use descriptive thread titles.
 
How many miles are on it. Is it the stock T25? Is the boost turned up? Are you sure it's not bluish smoke? Check your intercooler piping for oil. Maybe your turbo's seals are letting go. Just something else to keep in mind because obviously I have no way of knowing what's going on except for the car is smoking.
 
The car has a 130K miles on it..It is the stock T-25...It is mainly the whiteish/grayish smoke...It is still running stock boost...No boost controller...Everything else is fine..Turbo spools good...Blow off valve goes off correctly...Full power..Just smoking....:(

any more ideas?
 
Check your turbo for shaft play and remove the LICP for traces of oil. I'm sure your turbo is on it's last breath. If it was a HG or any coolant mixture issue your smoke would be constant and you would be able to check your coolant/oil for evidence of coolant and oil mixture.

If you boost and then let off the gas is there huge burst of smoke out the rear?
 
Ok...I only notice the smoke when I come to a stop after boosting....I can boost and then let off, and I do not notice any smoke behind me...only when I come to a stop after boosting...still crusing,no smoke....



UPDATE!!!!!!-Pulled new NGK V-Power plugs out, after only being 2 days old...The tip was a very chalky white color...
Any ideas now??
