Best Type Of Slim Fans For My Setup...Help !!!

ok so i was driving my dsm today and after about 15 minutes of driving it started to a little hot. ..came back home and i smelled something weird like burning rubber..looked under the hood and my slim fan ( i got from discount auto parts ) was melted ..so thats why it was getting hot...and as for my stock fan on the drivers side..its still good but i know it wont last..

ive searched on the forums on what kind of aftermarket slim fans to get but everyone has so many different opinions..ive heard

flex a lite
summit racing
spal
fluiydine
sbr

and i duno what else but a few more...

i need a set of slim fans that will hold up to the heat of my turbo ( as of not my turbo is about 1 1/2 inches away from my slim fan) so i need something that can withstand the heat without melting and i want something that will flow high in cfm .. eventually i will get an upgraded radiator but i dont have the $$ to do that now ..

so what is the best type of slim fan for my setup ? (check my profile for current mods)

also i will be posting pics later on how close my fans are to my turbo..

dont forget that its not just the CFM that you need, a well designed shroud will help termendiously. Also on my car I pulled the AC and stuck the fans infront of the radiator pusher style. Makes it cleaner and less stuff in the way when you do got to work on the car.

Also I am using Spals. from RRE.

I had two of those Advance Auto Parts fans and my car overheated, I even added a third fan and it overheated. They kept melting. I bought the Flex-a-lite fans and didn't use the box they sent. I have them on a relay though (they draw different power than stock) and I have them on all the time. They work awesome and no more overheating. I LOVE my fans! Best idea I ever had for my own car.

On topic, cut up the bumper if you have a front mount. I had 2 fans from autozone which have helped my car stay cool but cutting up the bumper was probably the cause of my car not running hot anymore.

I have the flex a lite fans (fals) for eclipse

not quite "plug-and-play" as you have to wire them in (it uses a separate adjustable controller). It does have a "shroud", although the shroud is flat, so it doesnt really channel air into the fan (perhaps lowering radiator efficiency as air cannot easily pass through those sections)? Although it does block hot air from being channeled through the fans.

Also takes some dremel work and bracket modification to fit a fluidyne radiator...

I have those fans and a PWR radiator. I didn't have to cut anything to make them fit. I did not use their controller but I did put a relay. I can stand at my side view mirrors with the hood open and you can feel the air flow.

To be clear, for my install, I had to:

1.) Dremel the indentations on the shroud for the radiator hoses, as they were too narrow on mine to fit properly. (Be careful to keep it centered so the rubber moulding stays flush with the sides)

2.) Cut part of the rubber moulding that was hanging over hitting the bottom and not causing the shroud to sit flush against the radiator.

3.) The brackets that come with the fan do not fit the fluidyne radiator as it is significantly thicker then stock. You can actually flip the brackets over and sideways to hold the fans in place.

4.) If you use the included adjustable fan controller (like I did), you have to tap power, ground, a/c clutch signal, ignition.

Other then that, the fans work great with the fluidyne - the combination cools way better then stock and leaves me with a lot more clearance. (The stock fans hit the J-pipe before)
