Dont know exactly where to put this but I wanted to share this info with everyone. I needed to remove some old tint from my hatch and went to target and bought a $25 Conair Fabric Steamer. Not only did this work great to remove tint with no mess, it didnt require any razor blades or anything, so all defrost lines work!!

Then I looked down at my eclipse tail lights with the letters all cracked and broken. Hit those with the steamer and the letters and glue became so plyable that I just peeled them off with my fingers, again no blades so no scratching.

I got my eclipse lights from a junkyard and they had wrote with paint '98 on them to mark the year. I could not get that paint off with any kind of acetone, fine steel wool, polish, goo gone, NOTHING. So I hit that with the steamer and it just wiped off with a rag!!

Then I looked at a couple of coffee stains on the carpet from the PO and hit that with the steamer, and what do you know the coffee just wiped up with a rag like it happened 2 minutes ago.

I am so happy with this $25 "power tool" that I am sitting here thinking what else can I use it on?!?!

I bought the "shark" one, and it's great! used mine for all the same things, it's also good for Detail work on the dash, and cleaning the BBQ grill, sooo many uses for this tool.

I used a heat gun for my old tint. Heat 1-2 inches from the back side of the glass (outside) and you will notice the tint start to lift.

Then just heat from the front side and you can make a small cut and start pealing that shit off. Worked great. I imagine the steamer would probably be quicker though. Hot steam > Hot air.

It is pretty quick but my car had two layers of tint, so I needed lots of heat to pull them both off, as the bottom one was very brittle even with the steamer. But I have got about half of it off until I got too sunburned to continue LOL so I will be up early tomorrow morning to finish. Damn south Texas heat...
