Anyone know a good way to take the starter out of my 95 talon fwd, What would i have to remove to make it easy to take it out?
And if my starter solenoid stop working or had a bad connection to it, would the the starter still spin without engaging?

If it is spinning and not engaging, that is because the gear is not extending into the flywheel. You could try smacking it with a rubber mallet but if that doesn't work, then you need a new starter. You should be able to get it out just by removing the UICP and battery, its directly below the intake manifold, bolted on the block side of the transmission. Remove your negative battery terminal as well. Then it is just two bolts and some wire connections that keep the starter in place...IIRC.

Hes right. If the stater is spining but not engaging, that means your solenoid is bad. Smacking it with a mallot will work but its only temporary. As for the connections, its one nut (12mm) that holds the positive wire and a little 1 wire clip for a negative.

It just seems weird, i don't know how to put this but the starter will kind of catch the flexplate but it grinds while it turns the engine but it only does it for like a second or two then it sounds like it just spins without engaging every time i turn the key. Would it be a bad connections on the solenoid?

The starter worked just fine before i swapped a 1g into the 95 talon, but it also been sitting for about 1-3 months before i swapped the 1g in.

By swapping in the "1g" do you mean a 6bolt motor? Maybe the starter is loose. With you saying that itll sound like it engages but grinds that either means that 1) the solenoid is failing or 2)the starter is loose. Check to see if the bolts backed out first.

I just replaced mine a month ago. Do the following and it should be a very easy swap:

1. Remove the battery.
2. Take your throttle elbow off, you will also need to remove your intake off of the turbo.
3. I found it a little easier to get my hands/tools in that area if you remove the top coolant hose going through the firewall (for the heater core).
4. Remove the spade connector (signal wire) from the starter.
5. Remove the power wire from the starter.
6. There are two (I want to say 14mm) bolts holding the starter in place. One goes through the bell-housing of the transmission (upper bolt) and the other into the engine block itself (lower bolt).
7. Remove the starter.
8. Install is reverse of removal.

It took me about 30 mins to get the starter out, and this was my first time removing a starter on a DSM. There is no need to go at it from the bottom and there is definitely no need to remove the down pipe. You don't even need to jack the car up doing it this way! Good luck!

Edit: Reading into your post a little more, my starter was doing something similar. I had checked my grounds/connections and even gave the solenoid a few good whacks with a rubber mallet. It turned out that the starter gear would shoot out along its shaft, but when it hit the end it would bounce off the outside of the housing and go back and forth...sometimes engaging the flywheel and sometimes clicking.
