Hi guys!

For all you turbo techs.. I'm curious on what combination of parts will get me a bolt on turbo (td05's and td05/td06) that will suck in enough air to hold 500hp.

I was thinking of having turbo labs build me a 68hta replica but I doubt it will get me to 500hp alone so I started thinking what hybrid custom turbo will get me where I want to be :)

Without knowing your supporting mods and type of fuel, it's impossible to say. For example, an off the shelf EVO 3 16g can get you there with the right setup:

Also, there are plenty of "bolt-on" turbos that don't use a Mitsu parts such as the TD05H/06 wheels/housings. An S258 or HX40 would get you there a lot easier.

That being said, if I were building something based on your requested combo, I'd use the billet 6 blade extended tip 20g compressor wheel, TD06H4 11 blade turbine wheel, TD06 non-surge ported comp. cover with 3" inlet, and FP 8cm turbine housing with the upgraded dual oiling passage thrust bearing.

As far as mods are concerned I'm thinking jack stage 2 trans, 272 cams+ valves and springs, stock short block.

wally 255, FPR, Link, 1100cc injectors, fmic..I think that should be all of the mods in a nutshell

You're going to recommend this as a bolt on 500hp turbo setup? That was an extreme setup with most people running that same turbo making anywhere from 300 to maybe 400 awhp if lucky.

Referring to OP i would say an Hx40 in a bolt on housing would do the trick without pushing the turbo to hard. There are plenty of other setups (FP etc.) that could do the job but the hard part for us on giving suggestions is we need to know more about your supporting mods (Injectors, pump, Type of gas, Compression, etc.)

Well I made 500 a while back using a borgwarner s259 .55 ar bolt on bullseye power dsm flanged housing. ported 2g exhaust manifold and evo3 02 housing. power came on all of a sudden:thumb:

You'll be pushing a Mitsu turbo hard just to get over 450hp, your best bet would be to try a FP, BW, or Holset turbo for what you're looking for. What type of fuel setup are you planning to run?
