Hey guys I am hopeing someone can help me with this problem I am having. Installed a 96 talon engine to replace my bad engine and the power steering/ac belt will not stay on. When I start the car it stays on the crank pulley and power steering pump but slides one rib off the outside of the ac compressor pulley so that the inner 4 ribs are the only ones touching it. I tried using just a 4 rib belt and it stayed on for about a month but would slip when having ac on and turning the steering wheel too far. Today it finally came off driving down the highway. I do not know what the problem is how could the AC comp be out of alignment if that is the issue? I do not see any way to adjust it, could the tensioner caust this?

.. . what i did was try to make it as straight as possible with the other pulley. and if not that try to see what side it comes off from and then point the pulley in the other direction so it can try to counter the effect of it coming off. it still might. but hey it wont hurt to try
I owned a 95 talon es before this and never had a problem with that one either. From what I've seen on alot of the local 420A's is the tensioner is bent or loose. I understand this is a common problem with the local guys...make sure to visually inspect your belts often. If you see any wobble on a pulley, that's your culprit.
