Well as of right now I'm in Japan and found something pretty cool. Its made by Bee*R and its a rev limiter and stutterbox device which I was planning on purchasing. Its alot cheaper then dsmlink or even msd dis-2.
Well as I was looking at the manual online and the wire install doesnt look too bad, only a couple wires to the ecu. But one problem that came up was the wiring for the stutterbox trigger. At first I thought I could use what people do with the msd dis-2 blue wire. But unlike the msd blue wire which uses a positive trigger, the Bee*R one needs to be grounded in order for the stutter box to be triggered. The manual recomended using the e-brake wire, but by doing that it wouldnt allow me to slip the clutch and use the stutterbox correctly.
I also thought about using the clutch safety switch, but found out that wouldnt work either. Since the switch is only grounded when the clutch is depressed.
Another idea I had was using the cruise control switch on the clutch. But the problem there would be that it has a positive charge when the clutch is depressed and cuts the charge when pressed. But the Bee*R needs to be grounded instead of powered in order to make the stutterbox work. I have been thinking about using a relay like the one used on the fuel pump rewire, but I have no clue about how to use one. Or how they work...
(Edit: Shit, now that I think of it, I'm not sure how the current on the cruise control switch on the clutch works... Is it 12v when clutch is engaged or when its dissengaged?)
I dont really know what to do at this point. All I know is that the stutterbox is triggered when grounded on the Bee*R unit. So if anyone has any idea's on how to do this using the clutch could you help me out? Could I use a relay to the 12v on the clutch safety switch to trigger a ground??? And if so how would this be wired???
Sorry if this post seems confusing. I can clarify if needed.
Oh yeah, here is the Bee*R unit.
Thanks for your help!
