basic upgrades for an auto

recently i got a auto awd i have had all 5 speed. just wondering if there is a diffrent type of path for the auto's to get more power and where to start. i did the basic tune up on it already and have a cat back but still nothing to impressive

I'm running an Awd 5 speed eprom ecu in my fwd auto now. I'm getting ready to switch to speed density now. It will work
Does the car blow black smoke, like its rich? That will make them sluggish. Cel on? Back brakes dragging? We need more info.

So how gutless are the autos? I am going to look at one on Thursday and I want to know what to expect...the car is 100% stock.

It isn't that they are gutless, but can be sluggish. Using link, you can add/remove timing for the low RPMs to give them better response, or as stated above, use the 5-speed ECU.

My plan is 5-speed ECU, e316g, 550's, 2gmaf, wally 255, afpr, FMIC. Was real fun in my manual, should be relaxed fun in my new 91 Auto. I only wish the 5-speed ECU was e-Prom, like my Auto ECU is.

At least the TCU is eProm, so it can be modded later.

I am going to look at two more this weekend, one is a 5 speed. Which ever car is in better shape is the one I am going to buy.

Get a big trans cooler too and just tap the trans temp gauge sender inline. I would recomend mounting the trans cooler inbetween where the fmic a/c condender and radiator are to use the fan to pull the hot air out.

^^^ As far as I know there is no upgrade for a 13g turbine housing. The 6cm (14b) and 7cm (16g, 20g) housings won't work on a 13g unfortunately.

Only big and evo 3 turbos came with the 7cm turbine housing..



As for the op..Swap out the manifold for 2g, get a 14b, 450 injectors, and manual fpr, ohh and 5 speed ecu..Also the roadsurge auto shift box is a wonderful addition..

He can do 550's and 2g maf right? Just grab a 255 pump and please save up for dsmlink you can only trick the stock ecu so much before timing becomes a issue in your tune.

550's and 2g maf correct but if hes going with the 255 you know an afpr is reccomended..Also link down the road is also nice to have..

I may be getting a 5 speed now. I have another auto to look at in pittsburgh tomorrow then a 5 speed on Sunday. Both look good but after the car I saw last night I need to see both in person, maybe I am just spoiled by my current dsm but that car last night was in bad bad shape.
