I am still getting some pretty bad gas mileage.

I am only getting about 19.7 mpg with mostly city driving shifting at 4k.
I have already replaced my front O2 sensor and am looking to replace the fuel filter.

I have a 99gst with about 55k miles on it. Should my fuel filter already be bad?

What else should I check or change? I have NKG plugs and Accel wires are on the way.

Thanks,
Nathan

while were on the topic of gas, anyone know what stations (companies) use the least amount of ethonol in their gas???? I want my stock fuel pump to last me long enough so that i can do all my final mods at once....i know the ethonol eat away at the pump so i'm trying to see if anyone knows where i should fill up my talon for the winter to stay full in the garage so no water builds up.. thanks.

yeah my 92 talon awd gets around 200 if im hard on it and 225-235 when im easy but school hurts me because in one day i put on 40 miles so its about every 4 days or so.

$10 at $1.63 (pa rate at williamsport) a gal premuim = 6.135gals

thats just about half on the tank. now depending on how you drive, it can last you a week or a few days, depending on how you drive. And if you get an FWD car, it would probley be better, now i have the AWD, and i can go just about 6 days with a full tank, but i have the check engine light on, so that sets the ecu to set it rich so it doest do any thing. its your choice on what ya get, good luck!

im definately goin with awd bc i know i wouldnt launch a fwd for shit. i dont drive that much anyway (dont drive if i dont have to) so i should save gas

:thumb: make sure you let us know when and get some pictures of your new ride :D ;) :thumb:

shoot, you guys get great milage. back when i had my t25, with intake, upper and lower intercooler pipes at 15psi i would get HORRIBLE gas milage, prolly like 14 miles per gallon at best, that's venting to the atmosphere though. that little shit would spool quick as hell! now that i have my 14b on with a home made lower pipe on about 10psi i get much much better gas milage, i believe just to the fact it doens't spool up so quick and start sucking gas so early.

98 grand cherokee 5.2..... i clicked on his name, thats how i got it......:thumb:

defiant, you said i should fill out my profile so you know what i drive, my profile certainly says what i drive, it always has so where were u looking???

i think the fuel injector cleaner did it. i was kind of surprised that it actually worked. i got STP i think.

I run nothing less than 93 octane. I run 94 whenever I stop at Sunoco. I wouldn't run 87 ever. They say "premium only" because our engines have high compression, and are turbocharged-if equipped. My dad's 4cyl ranger even knocked on 87!! It might have been cuz we were living in chicago at the time and all gas out there is required to have at least 10% ethanol. That sh$$ kills performance and is horrible for your engine.

Back on subject- I usually get 20-23 mpg all stock. I use my gas pedal though.

LOL hey newb our cars dont have high compression, they have low compression, why would you want high compression with a turbocharged car??

oh yah another thing, there aint no way in hell that our dsms have a 16 gallon gas tank, i have filled my gas tank up before when it was almost completely empty and the most gas i could get out of it was around 13 gallons

I know our cars don't have high compression. Our cars need premium because they're turbocharged, and n/a engines with high compression need premium. I completely miss-worded my last post.

Oh and just cuz I'm a newb to this site don't mean I'm a newb to tuning-so don't refer to me as one.

no prob man no need to get made i just called you a newb because of what you said and now you have cleared things up so i apologize for calling you a noob
