Well after fixing the alternator issue on my 1g yesterday i decided to take her out for a spin (we got about 3" of snow :hellyeah:) and i decided to take her out today since this is my only awd car other than my MDX. She started right up and as i was pulling her out of the garage it shuts off.
Saw a bit of smoke come out from under my stereo so i figure it was a fuse or my ecu. I go to turn her over and noticed i cant hear my fuel pump (usually pretty whinny) so i pull out my volt meter to see if its getting power and it is, so now im thinking its my ECU.
i go to connect it to ECMlink and i cant connect. now im thinking the worst, but i pulled out the ECU and nothing seems burnt. doesnt even smell burnt. So what can it be?
Is it just my fuel pump thats out? im getting spark but no fuel.

is power making it all the way to your fuelpump? you should start with a fuel pump. you could try jumping a wire to your fuel pump to see if it turns on, if it turns on then its probably the relay or the fuse. if not then the fuelpump would be bad.

power is making it all the way to the fuel pumps pigtails, i just checked for fuses and on my baterry terminal there is 1 that is burnt. not sure what it goes to though, says its a 30A MP:confused: and i still dont understand why my ecmlink isnt connecting.

well after checking fuses it seems that the fuse on my battery terminal 30A MPI is out. i replaced it and gave it a crank. started for a good 5-8 seconds then died get out to check under the hood and theres smoke.... apperantly somehow the cables on my o2 sensors pigtail shorted out and melted the whole pigtailOMG now i know the o2 sensor ground goes directly to the ecu..... could i have fried my ECU too? can i get this pig tail at AZ or oriellys? thanks

what part of the pigtail melted,if it is the connector then how?exhaust heat?or did the power wire enjoy some alone time with the ground? the smoke from the radio area is odd though. Did it pop that same fuse to the battery, also a daunting task check the fuses under the dash and check the 40A fuse under the hood.

The female end to the o2 sensor is the part that melted. Looks to me like the power wire touched the ground wire for a bit.... im assuming that's what blew the fuse. I am also still lost about where the smoke from the dash came from.... The only fuse I see in the radios area is the radio itself and a relay that's next to the ecu. Nothing else. I checked all fuses by the dead pedal on driver side amd they are all goof.Went to the local junkyard and we'll they have 0 DSM'sonly 1 97 eeclipse but the pigtail is completely different. Should I just eliminate the connector and wire it directly?

Wire the 02 directly? I don't think that would be a good idea only because whenever that 02 goes out, your going to have to cut them again.. and again.. and again.. eventually that wire will be so short you won't have any option but to find another. I would see if you can't pick up another connector from JNZ and wire it in there.

I'll shoot them a message land see if they have one. Went to mitsubishi and they said I'd have to order a whole new harness.....another thing I was thinking is just making my own connection it's just 4 cables. Doubt my car will throw out o2 sensors every year.
