I have a 90 Eclipse GSX that has been running fine this whole summer. Then this past Saturday it started, ran for half a second and then died. I haven't been able to get it started since. I haven't been hearing the fuel pump kick on at all, and when I try to start it i'm not smelling any fuel in the fuel rail or the injectors. Do you think it is the fuel pump, or could it be the ECU not working? Thanks for all the help.

There's a few things you can check first like fuel pump fuse and relay being bad as well. The fuel line coming off the fuel rail into a can (make sure nothing sparks under there) works as well to determine if you're getting fuel. Honestly, if you pull one of the lines and no fuel comes out you'll know to start moving backwards from there. Fuel filter to rail line, bottom of fuel filter, fuel pump. If you make it all the way back to the fuel pump without finding pressurized line somewhere along there, I'd pull the pump. Make sure you have GOOD line wrenches to disconnect the fuel line from the sending unit or you'll find out how difficult/expensive it is to find a replacement one. Trust me, the wrenches are by far cheaper than a used replacement and you'll need them to re-install the line. You can then pull the pump and manually check it with 12v to see if it works and then work backwards to the ecu itself.
