Alternator on my 1g GS died the other day. I had Autozone charge the battery so I could put it in and drive it 15 miles home (with the bad alternator). I got the new alternator put in, works fine. Then the car started acting up. The dinger (for like when you level your keys in the ignition) sounded like it was lacking power, the radio memory reset, and the seatbelts and light wouldn't move at all - that is, until the car was turned on.

Weird part is, it didn't have much if a problem (if any) starting. So, do you guys think its a bad battery? or some other electrical gremlin?

I have a warranty on the battery (red top duralast I bought March of this year) and I'm going to have then check it tomorrow.

Check the alternator and battery. Check your grounds, fuses and connections. I installed a new rebuilt alternator and fried it I had a bad battery. So now I check the battery under load and make sure that the battery is fully charged. After all alternator change outs. Learned my lesson and hate working for free.
