Hey guys i just bought a 95 talon tsi front wheel drive with a automatic and when i go to shift from park to reverse or to drive the car will jump forward and then nothing else. Once it jumps forward you can only rev it like its in neutral.

You may have already done this, but check your transmission fluid level. Were there any symptoms of the transmission acting funny when you bought it?

ya i just got it because it was cheap and had a rebuilt motor but the tranny was acting like this. Ill check the fluid or maybe i should just flush it out and refill it?

i would flush and refill, just to be safe. but thats just me, super paranoid.

btw the government watches while you pee

ok, would the tranny have anything to do with wen i go to give it gas it revs up to 3k and then wants to die?

I wouldn't think so. Is your Check Engine Light (CEL) on by chance? If you just got the car, I recommend doing a full tuneup. That means plugs, wires, PCV valve, etc... Oil change and AT fluid and filter change are recommended as well.

Many of the folks here recommend only using the Auto Transmission Fluid directly from the Mitsubishi Dealer and you definitely can't go wrong there.

Start with those things, the easy stuff. There is a decent chance you might fix a couple current issues and prevent future problems!

well i changed the tranny fluid and now wen i shift from park to reverse/ drive the car starts rolling like it should then i give it gas and it starts to go but as soon as i hit 1500 rpms the car dies, any suggestions?

yeah, the first thing i would have done was check the tranny fluid/filter and replace it

if that don't work. replace the tcu.

if that doesnt work, then there's something wrong with the tranny, a problem engaging in gear...which that could be a variety of things

yes the tranny engages now because of the new fluid but as soon as i go to put a load on the motor it kills itself

Something to do with your transmission for sure, I'm going to say the end clutches are bad or completely gone, Maybe something more minor but I'd start by pulling you're trans pan off and checking in there. Replace the filter and make sure you clean the pan and the magnets. Better yet, take pictures and post them on here. I've had my fair share of issues with Auto transmissions in the past.
