My tranny started slipping real bad today. I barely made it home. When I got home infront of my house, I put it in D and it didnt even engage, it just revved like it was in Nuetral. It did that in every gear, L, 2, R. What could be the problem?

I know it's not a fix, but my 240sx trans did that all the sudden at a drive thru line lost everything.
Droped the pan changed the screen and cleaned the metal off the magnetic drain bolt a small hand full.
New fluid ran perfect.
If your lucky could be a cloged filter. If your not torque converter or band's/Rebuild

Check if the fluid is full and not burnt. Drop the transmission pan, there are magnets on there which usually tell a tale of harsh abuse. If your super lucky and the fluid is really low, and you change the filter and fluid you may get lucky.

so my auto trans has been slippin for half a year already and the other day it gave out...
Rolling out of a stop sign it free rev as if in N so i was like whats going on in put it in P
and then back to D and nothing....it goes into R so i reversed all the way back to my friends house... anyways i drop the pan and found this...so can anyone say tranny rebuild?

i was wishing to drop the pan change the filter and fluid and be good to go but i thinks thats not going to be my case..
