Yes, I'm sorry, I posted this in the newbie forum as well.. But I should have posted it here anyways.. I have searched all over the forum and all I find is info on manual trannies.. I have a 420a 98 auto and need to add a qt or 2 of tranny fluid.. I dont know what to use and the owners manual says "Diamond ATF SP".. What should I get that will work? My tranny oil level is right at the bottom of the warm mark while warmed up and sitting in neutral.. Id rather not drive it around anymore than I have to like this. Thanks guys'

I assume I have this tranny ECLIPSE 95-98 4 SPEED FWD L4 2.0L 41TE (A604)

Thanks Locke, also, any kind of that stuff will work if I mix it with the stuff in there now?

The FSM calls for "Diamond SP-III"; which is the equivilant of ATF+4.

Valvoline makes a good full synthetic ATF+4, along with a Max Life ATF+4 that are both cost effective and good quality.

You can add it to the stuff you are running right now and it shouldn't hurt anything at all, but I would reccomend doing a transmission flush down the road and putting a fresh batch into the car.

Good luck,

Valvoline Full Syn ATF+4 is around $4.99/qt and Max life (non-syn) is around $3.99/qt.

I went with Mobil Full Synthetic since I trust it and I can share what's left with the C5.

I have alot of B&M Trick Shift at home (non-syn) but I remember forum guys saying not to use it.

Thanks for your input guys. I really appreciate the help.
