Ash tray mods?

Hey guys was wondering if anyone has done anything custom to the stock location of the ashtray.

I was thinking maybe a switch plate, or to use the whole piece(cup holder as well) and make a new fiberglass piece to include two cup holders or a relocation of the cig lighter spot for me phone etc.

I would like to do something just looking for ideas or pics of something you might have done.

Feel free to post pics ideas or anything else.

I was wondering about the dual cup holder too. These cars suck for carring anything bigger than a soda can, and only 1 at that!

I drilled a small hole and used some silicone to run my logging cable up through the ashtray.

Nothing special, but keeps it clean looking. No wires hanging around.

Interesting, I just ran mine under the console to behind the drivers seat. Can't even see it unless I pull it out.

To the OP: I think a dual cupholder would be cool. Or a custom spot that fits your mp3 player perfectly and wires it under the console. I hate how my aux cable has to lay there with my iPod instead of being wired back behind something. I used to keep it tucked under by the passenger seat but then my ebrake cuts through them after a couple weeks...

Just throwing ideas out there. I pop the ash tray open and plug er in. Seemed kind of a slick way of doing it. Just a thought haha.

These cars actually can hold two cups. one in the flip up cup holder, and if you are lucky you will still have the second cup holder that goes in the center console! The one in the center console hols larger drinks, but is specially designed to hold mugs or cups with handles.

If you look closely, you will see little grooves where these trays lock into.

I have a cup holder..It's in the center counsel.

I mounted my translator under the lid. Lift the lid up and there was the translator box, 1G of course.

I put a rotary switch for manually shifting my auto. All of it fit in the ashtray. All I have to do is disconnect a plug and swap in an undamaged ash tray for DDing.

I would love to put mine there though. I could just see it ending terribly...

You could gut the underside and stuff a Profec EBC in there. I did something similar with my 1g parcel box, which is about the same size as the 2g ash tray.

Idk I got tired of opening my hood(different mbc than now) so I went and bought 14' of vacc line and stuck it inside there.

It didn't cause any lag,spikes,drops or anything. boost is strong and steady.

I've got those in 2 out of 3 of my cars! Comes in handy with passengers.

haha! I am usually the one to give people rides, so yes passengers But when it comes to track days however.... What are these things called seats you sepak of?
