Whats up everyone. Normally dont post for random stuff like this but someone might have had the same issue or know a fix i cannot see,

I recently got rid of my wheel spacers on the back of the car which had my ARP wheel studs in, swapped it around so now the wheel bearings have the ARP studs in and now the back is touching the shoe springs up top! I swapped the spring around as they are a tad different OD but not by much, 0.2mm.

The ARP flange at the back on the ARP's are 1.1mm longer then oem! So this might be part of the cause, but i cannot see anything else causing the issue. Only does it on a turn as i assume the shoes move and push the spring into the stud flange further creating more noise as it rotates!

Has anyone had this issue before and if so whats the fix? I can try find smaller OD springs but as they very specifically made i doubt thats going to happen. Or do i have to sand the back of the flange down in the stud?

One other option is i have a laser cut flange made and put it inbetween the bearing flange and knuckle only small say 1-2mm to take the flange away from the spring.

Thanks

An option is to go back to oem studs and use extended thread lug nuts. If the et lug nut diameter is slightly too large for your wheel's lug holes just enlarge them.

I got R40 extended nuts already, i was thinking of checking the evo forums too as its the same studs they use and have the same E brake setup, i cannot figure out a fix that dont involve some kind of out the box thinking LOL,

I would do the spacer behind the wheel bearing assembly.
I know its not ideal but it would be a proper shaped spacer for the full housing not just washers LOL, im not silly haha this is my ultra last resort

Its not a hack way of doing it actually, similar has been done for years and years, in fact alignment shims are used in the same manner.
