Hey guys,

I just got my ARP extended wheel studs from STM. I went to press them into my new front wheel bearings and the knurl is too big!

Has anyone else ran into this issue? I got Timken replacement wheel bearings. Yes I have a 420a but the wheel bearings are the same on all fwd 2gs (maybe even awd too)

Anyway, has anyone ran into this before? STM, extreme psi and ARP all show the same part number for DSMs and evos, but these clearly won't fit!

Well, you will need to return them, you have the wrong knurl diameter; this has been discussed before because OEM vs. aftermarket hubs are notorious for different knurl diameters. You will need 0.509" knurl diameter studs, which are part number ARP 100-7708.

Heres what they look like on my website; please measure your knurl diameter of the factory studs from your hubs to confirm prior to ordering.

Thanks twicks. I hate how small things like this are such a pain.

.509 is what I measured on the studs that came out of my Timkens.

Thanks for the link. I tried searching but that thread didn't come up.

Yeah them ones you bought are just for OEM Mitsubishi bearings, others aswell but they sell specifically for us OEM bearings, my friend had the same issues which his timkins. It may be a good idea if we start a thread up just on this subject and see if we can get various bearing brands and what knurl sizes were and part numbers use from ARP are so it's easier to search for in future for anyone else doing this!
