Anyway to tell if I have arp studs? Im replacing that valve cover gasket tonight and just curious if there is any way to tell?

Thanks for the help

Rather than a hex-head bolt, it will be a threaded end with a nut as washer. They also have an Allen key (hex shaped hole) in the center of the top for install (unless upside down). So threads, nut, washer, and Allen key.

On a side note, if you have a 6-bolt, the stock bolts are considered to be stronger than standard ARP studs.

Really, that's something I didnt know. So if I were to ever need to replace my headgasket the stock bolts would be better to buy then arp studs?

Is that for oem stock bolts or aftermarket also?

I wouldn't recommend reusing your stock bolts if you are doing a HG job, the 6-bolt stock bolts are considered stronger, but that is from the factory. Over time bolts will stretch(not a lot but enough) do to the force on them. So if you could get oem bolts sure go ahead, but most people will swear by ARP

Yea ive always replaced them on any vehicle ive done a head gasket on. Ive never re used head bolts

I appreciate your help though!
