I remember reading a post where people were arguing about weather ARP headstuds were strong enough to handle 500 HP and 30psi of boost but I cant seem to find it and Im going to buy new headstuds on Monday so Id like to know. My plans for the build are:

2.3 Stroker 6 bolt in a 2G
Daily Driven
450-500 HP
GT35R
DsmLink
probably about 20-30 psi
Pump gas (91 Octane)
All supporting mods
272 cams

Should I bother spending the extra $300 on A1's or should I be good with ARPs. The price difference seems outrageous but if I have to Ill spend it. I dont want to blow the headgasket on a brand new engine that cost over 8 grand to build.

If your spending $8000 on your build, whats an extra $300? I say do it.

well I mean its not like I want to spend more money. I want to know if its worth the money to do it.

The arp's should do just fine. Local club guy is putting down over 700whp with arp's and a stock headgasket.

You could look into the Magnus head studs. They're not quite as cheap as the ARP's but are a bit cheaper than the A1's. The description says they've been used on applications pushing 60psi and 1400hp.

If you have any doubt if ARP's will hole, spend the extra money and get head studs that you know will work. You don't want to be taking stuff back apart. Do it once and do it right.

Yeah I agree with do it once do it right but Im just wondering if I should be concerned about ARPs. If ARPs are doing it right and cheap then Im all for that option. I know there are guys that have something bad to say about ARPs. Lets get their view.

Thanks for the responses everyone.
