Very quick question guys, search already too, just wanted to make sure before I install my arp headstuds. Do I need to use moly lube on both sides of the threads on the arp head studs,or just the side that goes in to the block?

What is Moly lube? ( I really don't know)

When I installed my rebuilt head on OEM studs I didn't use anything (that's why I'm asking)

Ahh never heard of it so if your using stocks then no :D Speaking I have done a few manifold swaps and never have :shhh:

Same here I didn't use anything.

For the stock head bolts you just put alittle oil on the head bolts. Where on the ARP studs your torque them down to 80 foot pounds with the moly lube, where if you use oil with the ARP's you have to torque down to 120 foot pounds.

Make sure to use it on the end where the nut goes on. And also put it on the flat surfaces of the washer. the end going into the block doesn't matter though, I didn't use any.

You use the lube to get rid of any excess friction that could cause you to get torque reading between metal rather than clamping pressure. The lube simply makes it so everything slides nicely and the torque is linear. You'll notice tightening them without the lube is very notchy and the torque will jump around alot. not good when your trying to get a solid 80'lbs. across the board. If no lube present, use heavy weight motor oil.
